A BOUT THE PARITY.PLANNER
The Parity.Planner is more than just a productivity tool. It’s about being productive in living your life the way that means the most to you. It’s about being productive while maintaining your mental health and well-being. It’s about ensuring your daily, weekly and monthly activities align to your core and aspirational values.
Furthermore, recognising that to think clearly we need to feel clearly, the Parity.Planner encourages regular reflection and being honest about how you’re feeling.
YOU.
Why not start your journey and take the first step in the Parity.Planner process? The Johari Window is a tool we can use to understand our relationship with ourselves and others. It can help us understand how we see ourselves compared to how we are perceived. It’s a great eye-opening tool for anyone serious about living their life according to who they are and their core and aspirational values.
The way you use the Johari Window depends on what you want to get out of it. You can use it for simple self-reflection, to identify characteristics and strengths that you might not have seen in yourself. Or you can use it to develop ones you want to display more of.
One thing is true – it’s a great step to building better self-awareness.
YOUR.VALUES
Your values are made up of the things that matter to you, the things you stand for and the way you lead your life; they identify you at your core and define your character. Your values are visible in your daily life and constantly reflect who you are.
You may have values you want to live by – these are aspirational values. However, your deep drivers are your core values – the ones you already have.
Knowing and understanding your core values will enable you to make better decisions – ones that you can stand by no matter the outcome. However, we can hold negative values as well as positive ones and bad decisions will sometimes be driven by these.
YOUR.LIFE
Once you know yourself better, how others perceive you, as well as have a better understanding of your value system, you can use this to guide you to how you want to live your life.
Armed with core values you want to keep and aspirational values you want to adopt, you can be confident the way you want to live your life and the actions, interactions and decisions needed to get there will align.
YOUR.JOURNEY
Really knowing how you want to live and what’s important to you is a huge step. Now you need to identify real actions that will get you there, as well as how you’ll know when you’ve arrived.
A great way to do this is to set goals for yourself that are actionable and measurable, using the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) system.
This way of setting objectives is great because it separates what you want to achieve from what you expect to see change and how you will achieve it. Your objectives should be audacious.
YOUR.PLAN
After you’ve identified your objectives and the results you want to see, as well as the actions required to achieve this, you’ll be in a strong position to start making a real difference in your life. You’ll be able to identify what you need to do to really start moving towards the life you want to live – one that is aligned to your values and what’s important to you.
REGULAR.REFLECTION
The modular monhtly, weekly and daily sections of the Parity.Planner are to help you ensure you can plan your activities according to the action plan and results you’ve identified. These pages are modular and undated on purpose – the Parity.Planner is meant to alleviate stress, not add to it. So if you miss a particular day, week or even a month, you can come back to it whenever you feel the need to ground yourself, to reassess and move forward.
